Two or three hours behind Sydney

We work on Philippine time, GMT+8: the same as Perth, two hours behind Brisbane, and two hours behind Sydney and Melbourne in winter or three during daylight saving. So most of your working day is ours too. Calls fit from late morning to the end of your day, and messages get answered within hours, not overnight.

What it costs in Australian dollars

Typical first versions, about in Australian dollars, at 19 October 2026 exchange rates. Payments, an admin dashboard, messaging or an AI feature each add a known amount, and the price is fixed in writing before we start.

What you are buildingTypical priceTime
Web appRuns in a browser A$6,500 to A$10,100 6 to 9 weeks
Mobile appiPhone and Android A$8,600 to A$13,000 8 to 12 weeks
BothOne system, two front doors A$13,000 to A$18,700 10 to 16 weeks

We quote and invoice in US dollars, so the Australian dollars figure moves with the exchange rate. The smallest project we take on is $3,000 USD, about A$4,300.

Compared with an Australian agency

Published guides from Australian agencies put a simple MVP at A$20,000 to A$50,000, with senior local developers at A$150 to A$250 an hour. Ours cost less because our senior-led team is in the Philippines, not because the work is cut short: you get the same written scope, fixed price and two-week demos.

Australian agencies also add 10% GST to their quotes. Our invoices come from a Philippine business and do not include Australian GST. If your business is registered for GST, your accountant will confirm how services bought from overseas are treated.

Privacy, and keeping data in Australia

If your app holds personal information, the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to you, and APP 8 keeps you accountable for personal information handled overseas. So before we touch any of your customers’ personal data, we sign a data processing agreement with you that sets out what we may do with it.

The app itself can run in a Sydney data centre, in your own AWS or DigitalOcean account, so your customers’ data stays in Australia and in your name.

Questions

Working with us from Australia.

Do you work with Australian businesses?

Yes. Australia suits us well: Perth shares our time zone and Sydney and Melbourne are two or three hours ahead. Everything runs over video calls, written updates and a private link to the work in progress.

Do your prices include GST?

Our invoices come from a Philippine business and do not include Australian GST. Quotes from Australian agencies usually add 10% GST on top of their published prices.

Can our app’s data stay in Australia?

Yes. We host it in a Sydney region of your own AWS or DigitalOcean account, so the data stays onshore and the account stays in your name.

Which hours do you work in Australian time?

Philippine time is two hours behind Sydney and Melbourne in winter and three in summer, and the same as Perth. Most of your working day overlaps with ours, so calls and quick questions happen the same day.

Can you quote in Australian dollars?

We quote and invoice in US dollars. At about A$1.44 to the US dollar (19 October 2026), a first version starts at around A$6,500, and the smallest project we take on is about A$4,300. The figure in Australian dollars moves with the exchange rate.
