MVP development for startups
We help you decide what to build first, build it, and put it in front of real customers. One fixed price agreed before we start, something to click through every two weeks, and the code in your name from day one.
- Typical first version, in USD
- $4.5k to $13k
- From signed plan to launch
- 6 to 16 weeks
- Agreed in writing before we start
- Fixed price
Who this is for
Founders with an idea and a budget who need a working product, not a prototype: something real customers can sign up to, pay for and use.
Often you have already tried a no-code tool, a freelancer, or a quote from a local agency. In Australia a local agency typically quotes A$40,000 or more for a simple first version. Ours usually lands between $4,500 and $13,000 USD, built by a senior-led team in the Philippines.
What a first version includes
- Sign-up, login and user accounts
- The one journey that makes your idea worth using, built end to end
- Payments, if customers pay inside the app
- An admin area, so you can run it without us
- Hosting, domain and app store accounts set up in your name
- A list of what to build next, ranked by what you learn from real users
How we keep it small
Most first versions fail by trying to do everything. In the scoping call and the plan that follows, we cut the idea down to the smallest thing a customer would pay for or come back to every week. Everything else goes on a list for later, with a rough cost next to each item.
You approve that plan in writing before we start, and the price does not move unless you change what you asked for.
What it costs
A first version that runs in the browser usually costs $4,500 to $7,000 USD and takes 6 to 9 weeks. An iPhone and Android app is $6,000 to $9,000 over 8 to 12 weeks, and both together $9,000 to $13,000 over 10 to 16 weeks. Payments, an admin dashboard, messaging or an AI feature each add a known amount.
The estimator on our home page gives you a range in a minute, without asking for an email address. The smallest project we take on is $3,000 USD.
After launch
You can stop there, with everything running in your own accounts and documented. Or carry on with a monthly team or a care plan, building the next items on the list as customers ask for them.
Every project runs the same way: a free scoping call, a written plan and fixed quote, two-week sprints, launch, then care. See how it goes.
Questions
MVP development for startups: common questions.
How much does an MVP cost?
Most of the first versions we build cost between $4,500 and $13,000 USD. A web app with sign-up, one core journey and an admin area sits at the low end; iPhone and Android apps with payments and messaging sit at the high end. You get a fixed quote after a free scoping call.
How long does it take to build an MVP?
Usually 6 to 16 weeks from the signed plan to launch, depending on the platforms and features. You see working software on a private link every two weeks, so nothing arrives as a surprise at the end.
Should my MVP be a web app or a mobile app?
If customers use it now and then, or it is for businesses, start with a web app: it is cheaper, quicker to change and needs no app store approval. If it lives in people’s pockets, uses the camera or location, or depends on notifications, go mobile. Many founders start on the web and add the apps once the idea is proven.
Do I own the code?
Yes. The code, servers, domain and app store accounts are in your name from day one, and we work inside them. If we part ways, nothing needs handing over.
I am not technical. Can you still work with me?
Most of our clients are not. Updates are in plain English, decisions are explained in terms of cost, time and what customers will notice, and you click through the real thing every two weeks.
